William Ellis Tabor, 69, of Meadow Bridge, peacefully passed away Saturday, June 24, 2017, in the Bowers Hospice House at Beckley, following a short illness.
Born May 16, 1948, at Lockbridge, he was the son of the late Virgil and Grace Gwinn Tabor.
Willie worked for West Virginia Paving until he retired. He was a member of the Meadow Bridge Calvary Baptist Church, where he served in many capacities, including driving the church van and as worship leader. He also was a substitute custodian for Fayette County Schools.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his nephew Chad Tabor.
Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife Donna Barker Tabor; 3 brothers David Tabor (Peggy) of Meadow Bridge, John and James Tabor, both of Lockbridge; 3 sisters Mary McClung (Paul), Etta Lively (Paul), and Susan Tabor, all of Lockbridge; his mother and father-in-law Tom and Ada Barker of Appomattox, Virginia; 1 sister-in-law Debbie of Warren, Ohio; 1 brother-in-law Tom (Cathy) of Appomattox, Virginia; 2 nieces, 7 nephews; and a host of extended family and friends.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 27, in the Meadow Bridge Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Zeb Volpe officiating. Burial will follow in the Gwinn Family Cemetery at Lockbridge.
Friends may call two hours before the service from 12 - 2 p.m. at the church.
