William James


William James "Jim" Toney, Sr., 75, of Mullens, West Virginia, passed away Saturday, November 17, 2018, at Hill Top Nursing Center in Hilltop, WV. He was a resident of Mullens, WV, for 72 years prior to becoming a resident of Hill Top approximately 3 years ago.
Born December 10, 1942, at home in Pierpoint, WV, he was the son of the late Clarence and Leona Toney. He was preceded in death by a brother Bobby Dale Toney, a niece Tammy Worley Logan, and a sister Janet Logan Weaver.
Jim is survived by his brothers Dan Toney, Dave Toney, and Larry Toney, sisters Gloria Worley and Faye Combs, his children James Toney, Jr., and Cassandra Toney, grandchildren Drew Wahnon, Kyle Wahnon, Adrian Wahnon, Hayden Toney, Kaytlin Hutchins, Justin Toney, Thomas Norris, and Ashlin Steinman and sisters-in-law Jeanie Toney and Veda Toney.
In Jim's younger days, he worked in the coal mines and as an EMT for OH9 Ambulance Service. He was a former member of Mullens Pentecostal Church and was a 1961 Mullens High School Graduate.
Jim was a "people" person, enjoying visits and long talks with friends and relatives. He always had a smile on his face and a happy greeting for everyone; but most of all, he loved his family.
Services will be 12 Noon Wednesday, November 21, 2018, at Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel with John Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley.
Friends may call one hour prior to services Wednesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Greg Worley, H.D. Worley, Tim Weaver, Gary Weaver, and Tommy Wikel.
