Zelta "Pookie" Katherine Belcher, age 69, of Glen Daniel, passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2019, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. Born on October 9, 1949, in Welch, WV, she was the daughter of the late George Burns and Zelma Bailey Burns.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Robert Belcher and his wife, Kelly, Crystal Machelle Barton, Rachel Belcher, and Joseph Belcher and his wife, Ashlee; grandchildren, Amber Belcher, Deserea May and her husband, Noah, Robbie Belcher, Heather Carreon and her husband, Cris, Chris Cheek, Amaya Cheek, Jordan Cheek, Halee Belcher and Joesiah Belcher; great-grandchildren, Owen Carreon, Eliana May, Ava May, Liora May, Adalee May, Khloe Cheek, Carson Cheek and Isabelle Belcher; sisters, Dorothy Sue Allen, Georgia Martin and her husband, Robert, and Kathy Horton and her husband, Mike; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Zelta said that her proudest achievement in life was raising her four children. She loved and cherished spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 pm Monday, September 23, 2019, at Blue Ridge Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, September 24, 2019, in the Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Webb officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Heritage Garden of Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers honoring Ms. Belcher will be Lee Smith, Delbert Bailey, Keatts Harvey, Robbie Belcher, Chris Cheek, Michael Basham, Mike Horton and Dave Stanley.
