Bryant Shrewsbury, 73, of Herndon went home to be with his Lord & Savior early Monday, July 31, 2017, at the Bowers Hospice House in Beckley.
Born January 13, 1944, he was the son of the late Burl & Meda Mae Graham Shrewsbury.
Bryant was a retired coal miner known as Pinkie to his co-workers and a member of the UMWA. He was a faithful member of the Basin Freewill Baptist Church, where he had served in many capacities. He loved teaching Sunday school to children, reading his Bible and loved taking care of animals. Bryant was a bee keeper.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four siblings: Carol Ford, Betty Shrewsbury, Loretta Roberts & Irene Shifflett.
Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Cynthia Ann Mills Shrewsbury, three siblings: Lance Bryon Shrewsbury, Bernie Shrewsbury and companion Okie, Sue Ellen Royce & husband Carl all of Basin. Cindy's parents whom he loved, Nelson & Carol Mills, brother-in-law & wife, David & Charlotte Mills, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday at the Basin Freewill Baptist Church near Herndon with Pastor Randy Lusk officiating. Burial will follow in the Shrewsbury Family Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday from 1:00 P.M. until the service hour at the church. Family & friends will serve as pallbearers.
