Cecil's Story

Cecil Ray Miller, age 80, of Oak Hill, WV passed away at his home on Monday, July 10, 2017.
Born on November 14, 1936 in Beckley, he was the son of the late Charlie Miller and Catherine Meadows Miller.
Mr. Miller was a retired employee of the WV Turnpike, and a former employee of the City of Beckley.
He had attended Mabscott Holiness Church, and had made his home in Oak Hill for the past 4 years, having previously residing at Lanark.
n addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Chuck, Roger, and Bobby Miller, by a grandson J.J. Forren, and a granddaughter Jenna Marie Miller.
Those survivors left to cherish his memory include his wife of 59 years, Janet Adkins Miller; sons, Richard Miller of Beckley, Wayne Miller and wife Jeanie of North Carolina, and Cecil Miller Jr. of Beckley; daughters, Debbie Maynor and husband Charles of Beckley, Tammy Miller and companion Larry Hughes of Pax, and Teresa Hughes and companion Melvin Painter of Beckley.
A brother Richard Miller and wife Mary of Beckley, and a sister Thelma Miller James of Beckley, 18 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren also survive and his special dog, Smokey.
Funeral services will be conducted at Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at 1PM with Pastor Butch LeGrand officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity, WV.
Friends may visit with the family from 6 PM until 9 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be friends and family members, Eric Smith, Jeff Bozo, Randy Meadows, Douglas Hughes, Christopher Hughes, and B.J. Miller.
