Doris Lynn Mullins, age 63, of Cool Ridge, WV, passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2017 at Beckley Appalachian Hospital.
Born on March 23, 1954 in Beckley, she was the daughter of the late David Black and Dena Douglas Black.
Mrs. Mullins had been a former employee of Magic Mart in Oceana and Pineville and a former employee of Appalachian Inn at Ghent.
She was of Christian faith and had made her home in Cool Ridge most of her adult life.
In addition to her parents, a sister, Donna Rye, preceded her in death.
Those survivors left to cherish her memory include her husband of 43 years, Joe Mullins; a son, Joey Mullins of Cool Ridge, and a daughter, Stephanie Brewer and husband, Chris, of Lawsonville, NC; grandchildren, Gavin Brewer and Sutton Cecilia-Joy Davidson; brothers, David "Tyke" Black and wife, Judy of Crab Orchard, Dean Black and wife, Becky of Stanaford and Donald Black and wife, Barbara of Crab Orchard; sisters, Diane Harris and husband, Russell of Stanaford, and Dorothy "Dottie" Black of Waldorf, Maryland. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home Shady Spring Chapel on Friday, July 28, 2017 at 1 PM with Rev. Tim McKay officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity, WV.
Friends may visit with the family from 6 to 9 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Joey Mullins, Chris Brewer, David, Dean, and Donald Black and Jamie Chafin.
Doris was on the list for a lung transplant. It was her personal wish that she be a donor also and she, therefore, donated her organs for others to benefit in their need.
