Edward M. Perdew, 89, of Pipestem, died Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at Princeton Community Hospital.
Born April 27, 1929 in Mohawk, WV, he was the son of the late Winfred and Gladys Cline Perdew.
Mr. Perdew enjoyed fishing, hunting and working in his yard.
A loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son and brother, he retired with 46 years of service as a section foreman for the N&W Railroad and the Southern Railroad.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Faye Blankenship.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 69 years, Jean Eloise Bailey Perdew; two loving children, Rondal Lee Perdew & wife Mary of Circleville, OH, and Roberta Lynn Steele of Iaeger; three grandsons, Jeffery Lee Perdew, Wally Edward Baker and Tyler Mack Addair; three great-grandchildren, A.J, Abigail and Alexander Perdew; one brother, Dexter Perdew & wife Mildred of Ashworth, GA.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Edward M. Perdew will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, August 18, 2017 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Tom Carpenter officiating. Burial will follow in the Lilly/Crews Cemetery at Nimitz.
Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 PM until the service hour at the funeral home.
