Jerry Dwayne Wood, age 50, of Rock Hill, SC, formerly of Beckley, WV, passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2017 in Rock Hill, SC, following a sudden illness.
Born on January 12, 1967 in Cleveland, Ohio, he was the son of the Fern Cook Wood of Beckley and the late George Wood Sr.
Mr. Wood was a web developer in Rock Hill, and was a US Army Veteran. He attended Elevation Church in Rock Hill, and his interests included boating, music concerts, and spending time with his family at Myrtle Beach.
Mr. Wood graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1985, and Concord College in 1998 with a B.S. Degree in Business Administration.
In addition to his mother, Fern Wood, Mr. Wood is survived by his wife Adriana Mistretta Wood; two daughters, Jasmine Wood of Beckley, and Antonella Mistretta of Rock Hill, SC; a brother, Pastor George Wood Jr. and his wife Coral of Beckley, and a sister Stephanie Blankenship and her husband Mark of Bedford, VA; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at 2 PM, with his brother Pastor George Wood Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity, WV.
Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services on Thursday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
