Johnny Eugene Raines, 53, of Layland passed away suddenly at his home on October 5, 2017.
Born on May 13, 1964 at Highland Mountain, WV, he was the son of the late John Robert Raines and Elsie Lee Vance Raines.
In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his grandparents, Dock and Lillie Vance, Hubert and Julia Raines; 6 uncles and 5 aunts.
Johnny was a painter; he had worked in Georgia, North Carolina and West Virginia.
He is survived by his mother, Elsie Raines; 2 sons, John and Charlie both of Clear Creek; 2 brothers, Robert and his wife Jamie, Dennis and his wife Debbie all from Layland; 2 sisters, Debbie and her husband Roger Taylor of Layland, Drema and her husband Curtis Taylor of PineyView; 2 uncles, 1 aunt, 3 nephews, 3 nieces; a special niece, Erica; special grandnephew, Jayden.
Johnny will be sadly missed by all who loved and knew him. He never met a stranger, he was a good hearted person and he would do anything for anyone. He loved his boys and all of his family.
Service will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 13, 2017 at Wallace & Wallace Chapel, Rainelle with Pastor Marvin Mullins officiating. Burial will follow at Smith Cemetery, Highland Mountain. Nephews will be pallbearers.
Friends may call at the funeral home Friday 12:00 noon until time of service.
