Julian Christian "J.C." Blume, 95, of Fayetteville, WV peacefully passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital in Charleston, WV.
Born in Fayette Station, WV, on June 4, 1922, the son of Thelma and E.G. Blume.
J.C. lived his entire life in his beloved town of Fayetteville after serving in World War II. He worked in the postal service as postmaster until his retirement. His involvement in Fayetteville included town council membership, Huse Memorial Park Committee, American Legion Membership, and McDonald's, Tudor's, and Shoney's friendship gatherings. He was a life-long member of the Methodist Church.
One of J.C.'s greatest passions was the development and growth of Fayetteville. He loved the town and its people and was once quoted as saying, "There is no better or friendlier place to live on earth than Fayetteville, WV. Why would anyone want to live anywhere else in the world?" J.C. was proud of his family.
He will be greatly missed by his friends and his loving family members who include his beloved wife of 67 years, Betty; his daughter, Ann and her husband, Steve; his son, Ed and his wife, Bedelia; his brother, Bennett; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and 16 nieces and nephews.
J.C. Blume has graciously donated his body to the WVU Medical Center to enhance young physician training. After fulfillment of his benevolent desire, he will be placed to rest with a family memorial service at Huse Memorial Park.
