Julie's Story

Julie Anna Calvert Wolfe, 50, of Newport, VA, went home to be with the Lord on July 2, 2017 in the care of her loving family and Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA. Her death followed a long struggle with physical health issues. Julie was surrounded by her family and friends as she passed peacefully.
She was a resident of Sophia, WV until she graduated from Concord University. Julie relocated to the Blacksburg, VA area where she began her career with Poly-Scientific/Moog corporation. She held various positions within the company for 29 years.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Joseph Emory and Marie Calvert; her maternal grandparents Anna Kaplya and Jesse McElrath; her mother-in-law Audrey Wolfe; her brother-in-law Jimmy Wolfe; and her cousin David Martin.
She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband Donald Earl Wolfe; her devoted parents James and Jesse Calvert of Sophia, WV; her sisters Jennifer Hilgardner (Bob) of Land O'Lakes, FL and Jamie Kinder and son Griffin of Daniels, WV; her step-son Chris Wolfe and daughters Kaylee and Kara of Louisville, KY; her brother-in-law Danny Wolfe (Helen) and son Ben; her sister-in-law Sue Wolfe and son Jimmy; her special friend Tammy Doss; her aunts Thora Sutherland (Bill) and Mary Veneri (Kenneth); her father-in-law Dan E Wolfe Sr. of Pulaski, VA; and her cousins Teresa Martin, Dwayne Martin, and Drew Martin, Heather Heath and children.
Memorial services will be conducted Saturday, July 8, 2017, at 4 pm in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke, with Pastor John Hopkins officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home two hours before the services.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made in Julie's memory to the Sophia United Methodist Church, W. Main St., Sophia, WV or Blacksburg First Wesleyan Church in Blacksburg, VA.
