Lewis I. Canterbury, 72, of Sinks Grove, WV passed away Sunday, June 25, 2017 at his home following a sudden illness.
He was born at Rock Camp, WV June 22, 1945, a son of the late Aaron V. and Minnie Faye Harvey Canterbury.
Mr. Canterbury was a retired Alleghany Power Employee having worked as a operations manager. He was also a member of the Sinks Grove Baptist Church at Sinks Grove.
Surviving is his wife, Sharon Nichols Canterbury of Sinks Grove; 2 sons, Jerry Lewis Canterbury and wife, Angela of Craigsville, Va., and David Scott Canterbury of Ronceverte; 5 grandchildren, Kayla Hinkle, Leanna Canterbury, Alex Canterbury and wife, Betsy, Eric and Evan Canterbury; 2 brothers, Larry Canterbury and wife, Shirley, Randall Canterbury and wife, Bonnie all of Covington, Va.; 2 sisters, Madeline Ballard and husband, John of Greenville and Sue Miller of Sinks Grove.
Friends may call at the Groves Funeral Home in Union from 2 - 4 pm, Sunday, July 2, 2017, a service will follow with Pastor Clark Morgan and Pastor Mike Whisman officiating. In keeping with Lewis's request he will be cremated following the services.
