Mable's Story

Text size

In the early morning hours of Sunday, June 25th, 2017, in the comfort of her home, Mable Daniels went to be with her Heavenly Father. She turned 75 on June 8th.
One of eleven children, Mable Ann Lambert was born at Maben in 1942, the daughter of the late Donnie Hofford and Mable Magline Stoots Lambert. Her sisters, Donna Cozart, Mazie Harrison, Dixie Dunbar, and brother Ricky Lambert have preceded her death.
When we remember Mable we recall a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a great homemaker.
Mable loved going to church where she enjoyed singing. Mable loved Jesus. She read her Bible faithfully and could always answer the radio Bible question correctly each week. That would make her day! A member of the Eccles Church of God for 41 years, she has attended the Harper Freedom Church the past ten years.
Mable never met a stranger. Her daily visits to the post office, shopping trips to Kroger's, the local dollar store, enabled her to always talk to her friends. Everyone loved Mable. You were always welcomed in her home. She was a wonderful cook. If you left Mable's home hungry, it was your own fault. The simple pleasures made her happy, fishing, sitting on her swing and playing with her great-grandchildren.
Her passing creates a great void in our lives, yet for her, she meets many loved ones on "The Other Side."
In addition to her parents, sisters and brother, many loved ones have passed; grandson, Jeffrey Stoots, her father and mother-in-law, Herbert and Anna Mae Daniels; sisters and brother-in-laws, Shellie Bolt and Molly Pate; Leslie "Dumpy" Daniel, Johnny and Robert Daniels, Roland Williams, and Jim Howerton. Nine months and 29 days ago on Aug. 26th, Mable's beloved husband, Charley of 53 years died at home surrounded by Mable and the family, and now, "Oh Glad Reunion."
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Allen Daniels and his wife, Angie, daughter, Annette "Sissy" White, husband Wayne and son, Charlie "Bo" Daniels, wife Tina; grandchildren, April Davis (Rocky), Jessica Athey, Michael Daniels (Tanaya), Cody Daniels (Kayla), and Melissa "Lucy" Honaker (Wolfgang); great- grandchildren, Nicole Cantley, Harlie Daniels, Devon Daniels, Shelby Daniels, Avery Daniels, Audrea Davis, and Little Rocky Davis; sisters and brother, Elsie Burnett, Carrie Williams, Lila Smallwood (Fred), Phyllis Cook, Loretta Silar, and Donald "Bub" Lambert; sister and brothers-in-laws, Darline Daniel, Elmer Harrison and Larry Bowling; a large extended family of nieces and nephews Mable loved as her own.
On Thursday, June 29 at 12 noon there will be a Home Going Service for our dear Mable at the Melton Mortuary Chapel. Rev. Dick Sellards and Brother Billy Waddell Jr. will be officiating. Mable will be laid to rest in the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity.
Family members will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6 to 9 pm at the mortuary and one hour prior to the services on Thursday.
