Barbara Thomas Obituary

Oak Hill, West Virginia - Barbara Van Thomas, 90, of Oak Hill, WV, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2025. Born in Fireco, WV, she was the daughter of Romie & Cleo Thompson. Barbara married Bobby "Wheel" Thomas and together they raised four children: David Thomas (Michael Lawson) of Kingsport, TN, Dale Thomas (Tracy) of Reidsville, NC, Donald Thomas (Debbie) of Columbia, SC and Debra Lanna (Chris) of Beckley, WV. She was blessed with ten grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Barbara was the sister of Patricia Kettlewell (Raymond) of Crab Orchard, WV, and Marshall Thompson (deceased).

A beloved mother and gram, Barbara filled her home with warmth, laughter, and countless cups of coffee. She enjoyed tending her flowers, reading and she had a gift for making everyone feel welcome. Her back porch was a gathering place for family, friends, and joy.

A celebration of Barbara's life will be held at Blue Ridge Funeral home on Saturday, November 8, 2025. Visitation at noon and funeral at 1pm. Guests are encouraged to wear BRIGHT COLORS and share in the love she passed on to us all.
