Billie Jo Dove Wall Obituary
Billie Jo Dove Wall, 96, of Princeton, WV, formerly of Bud, WV, passed peacefully Sunday, October 15, 2023, at her home. Born March 22, 1927, at Iroquois, WV, she was the daughter of George and Clara Keatley Dove. She was a 1943 graduate of Herndon High School having been advanced several grades and graduating from West Virginia Business College by age 16. She then worked at Appalachian Power at Glen Lyn, VA.
After WWII ended, she married her soldier, Wesley Wall, and they began their more than 50 year careers as postmasters in Bud, Herndon, and Covel, WV. She always said how very much she enjoyed her work. They were inducted into the Herndon High School Hall of Fame for their service and dedication to the school and the community. Billie was a lifelong member of the Bud-Alpoca United Methodist Church and was currently attending Pisgah Community Church in Princeton.
She enjoyed going to the Princeton Senior Center and participating in many activities with her wonderful friends. She loved spending time with her family, talking on the phone for hours with her sister Betty, playing bingo, watching sports, traveling, doing word search puzzles, and volunteering with Hospice Compassus.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Wesley Wall; her sisters and brothers-in-law Betty Mitchell (Clyde Mitcham, Raymond Mitchell), Patty Ernst (Ken), Peggy Anderson (Gale), and Janie Johnson (Bob); her brother-in law Dennis Wall (Ruth), sisters-in-law Lynna Williams (Ray Wood, Robert Williams) and Medabeth Schwaner (Jack); and many nieces and nephews.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Sandra Goodwin (Earl), Gregory Wall, and Timothy Wall (Linda); her very special granddaughters Tiffany Wall (Jason) and April Wall-Parker (Andrew); and her adoring great-grandsons Bretton and Brycen Wall and Patrick Robinson.
The family would like to thank the wonderful people at both Case Commission on Aging and Hospice Compassus and caregiver,
Lauren Reynolds.
