Meadow Bridge, West Virginia - Brenda Kay Cox, 72, of Meadow Bridge, went to her eternal home Thursday, June 9, 2022, in the Cabell-Huntington Hospital following a long illness.
Born December 30, 1949, at Hinton, she was the daughter of the late Leslie and Margaret Gwinn Kessler, Sr.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 53 years, Wayne Cox; five children Alvin Cox (Joy) of Versailles, Kentucky, Andy Cox (Missy) of Beckwith, Mistie Richmond (Tracy) of Meadow Bridge, Eric Cox (Starlina) of Rupert, and Jake Cox of Meadow Bridge; three siblings Eddie Kessler (Debbie) of Elgood, Penny Miller (Herbie) of Forest Hill, and Butch Kessler of Meadow Bridge; thirteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 17, at Smathers Funeral Chapel with Charlie McKinney and Jerry Stumpf officiating.
Burial will follow in the Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville.
Friends may call one hour before the service from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations of sympathy in Brenda's name be made to the North Beckley Church of Christ for use at the Surprise Valley Youth Camp or Potters Children's Home, 3721 Robert C. Byrd Drive, Beckley, WV 25801.
