Carl V. Lester 67, of Itmann, died Monday, April 17, 2017 at the VA Medical Center in Beckley.

Born January 25, 1950 in Hurley, VA, he was the son of the late Henry & Margie Stinson Lester.

Carl served his country during the Vietnam conflict with the U.S. Army where he received numerous medals along with a Purple Heart Medal.

Carl was a former coal miner.

While his health permitted, he loved doing woodworking and restoring cars.

Those left to cherish his memory, are his devoted wife of 45 years, Bonnie Sue Faulkner Lester; two sons: Carl Keith Lester & wife Sally of Princeton, Brian Kevin Lester & wife Charity of Maben; five grandchildren whom he dearly loved; Sabrina, Kara, Sandra, Ember & Aric, and several brothers and sisters survive.

Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. on Thursday, April 20, 2017 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Dally Maynard officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton with military honors given under the direction of the Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard.

Friends may visit with the family Thursday from 10 A.M. until the service hour at the funeral home.
