Grassy Meadows, West Virginia - Daniel Lee Hamrick, 78, of Grassy Meadows, passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2022, in the Greenbrier Health Center, Fairlea, following a long illness.

Born July 5, 1943, in Grassy Meadows, he was the son of the late John and Glenna Cohenhour Hamrick.

Daniel retired from Hercules Manufacturing. He enjoyed farming, hunting, fishing, coaching little league baseball, traveling, music, auctions, old cars, but his passion was eating. Daniel was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother Ed Hamrick and one sister Betty Hamrick.

Survivors include three sons Nathan (Kelly) of Bennett Mountain, Carey (Shana) of Lewisburg, and Nicholas (Mindy) of Grassy Meadows; one daughter Casy West (Brit) of White Sulphur Springs; five brothers Ben (Helen) of Maryland, Lloyd (Dicie) of Rupert, Kyle "Andy" of Grassy Meadows, Charles (Carol) of Maxwelton, and Darrel (Juanita) of Wayside; five sisters Linda Pratt (Bill) of Ohio, Mary Brown of Rainelle, Ruth Livesay (Roger) of Elton, Ina Cales (Sam) of North Carolina, and Irma Hamrick (Roger) of Springdale; ten grandchildren Danielle Hamrick, Justin Hamrick, Rosie Ketchum, Carlee Hamrick, Hailey Claypool, Brooklyn Hamrick, Blake Hamrick, Zachary Hamrick, Wyatt Thornton, and Caylen Thornton; two great-grandchildren Jacob Clendenin and Mallory Woodrum; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 31, at Smathers Funeral Chapel, with Charles Brown officiating.

Burial will follow in the McElhenney Community Church Cemetery, Grassy Meadows.
