Springdale, West Virginia - David Mark "Big Dave" Morton, II, 50, of Springdale, formerly of Mt. Hope, passed away peacefully at his home with his loving family, Sunday, December 10, 2023.

Born May 19, 1973, at Hinton, he was the son of David Mark and Kitty Sue (Jones) Morton of Springdale.

Big Dave was a 1991 graduate of Mt. Hope High School. He enjoyed collecting action figures and had a heart as big as Texas.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his son David Morton, III, of Harbeson, Delaware, his stepson Nick Hurd of Delaware, their mother Heather of Delaware; one brother Samuel Morton (Jessica) of Mt. Hope; three nieces Alanis, Abbi, and Brittany; two nephews Clay and Liam, whom he adored; one great nephew due in May; and one great niece Paislee; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on his birthday, May 19, 2024, at a time and place to be posted at a later date.
