Hilton Village, West Virginia - David Lee "Dave" Strunk went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, December 23, 2022 following a short illness. He was 76 years old. Born in Graydon, West Virginia on February 17, 1946, David was the son of the late Fred and Mary Strunk.

Dave grew up in the Ames coal camp for which his father worked. Because he was raised in the coal camp environment, Dave was a wealth of knowledge about the lifestyle and enjoyed reading about the history of and sharing stories about coal camp life.

Although he met many people along his long life, including working in DC, Long Air Dox, and FMC. Dave spent the majority of his life (41 years) building Dave's Sanitation. He was an avid historian and storyteller who kept everyone smiling and laughing with stories from the past and present. He was a stranger to no one, and a friend to all.

In addition to his parents, Dave is preceded in death by his loving wife of 31 years, Pamela (Willis) Strunk, his sister, Connie Hodge, and two brothers, Garnie and Freddie Strunk. Those left to carry on his legacy are as follows: his son, Lee (Karen) Strunk, of Rainelle, WV; his daughters, Carri Strunk, of Lookout, WV, Mary Strunk-Dickens (J.R.) of Glen Daniel, WV, and Amy Strunk, of Hilton Village, WV. He was "Pops" to 5 grandchildren; Jaxen Strunk, of Beckley, WV, Katie (Jonathan) Fendley of Lookout, WV, Jeremiah Strunk and Jonathan Strunk, of Rainelle, WV and Ryleigh Hicks, of Hilton Village, WV as well as one great-grandchild, Eliza Jade Fendley of Lookout, WV. We also want to acknowledge Chris (Kara) Shuff of Oak Hill, WV who was like a son to Dave and was very dear to his heart. Dave will be remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Most people knew Dave from his time spent at U Save in Lookout, which was his second home with his friends Ted, Fred, Donna (D), and Jennifer.

Visitation for friends and family will be held at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home in Ansted, WV on Friday, December 30, 2022 from 5-8pm. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2022 at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home in Ansted, WV at 2pm, followed by the burial at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Victor, WV.
