Beckley - Donald Lee Hawks II peacefully passed away on the morning of October 31, 2025 at the age of 55, surrounded by the love of family, friends, and the comfort of his devout faith.

Donald Lee was a passionate artist, musician, and-above all- a man of faith; gifts he generously shared with his nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephew.

He cherished life's simple joys: making music with friends at church, playing cards with his sisters at the dining-room table, pulling practical jokes on loved ones, or discussing in great detail the Star Wars saga. A stranger was simply a friend he hadn't met yet-whether he was "Sheriff Don" at Ponderosa or greeting customers at K-Mart. His genuine spirit and unshakable optimism drew people in wherever he went.

He is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Brenda, who welcomed him with open arms; and his brother-in-law, Virgil Lewis.

Cherishing his memory are his father, Donald Hawks; older sisters, Tammey Lewis and Cindy (Brian) Pertee and their families; nieces and nephews, Tyler Pertee, Rachel (Eric) Kittle, Aaron (Tia) Pertee, and Brianne (Jake) Pino; great nieces, Hadley, Taylie, and Keyari Kittle; and great-nephew, Jude Pino, who will carry forward his legacy of love, faith, and joy.

The Funeral Service honoring Donald Lee will be held on Monday, November 10th at Melton Mortuary starting at 1 pm with Pastor Chris Smith officiating. The family will begin receiving visitors at 12 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his honor to Fellowship Bible Church at: PO Box 381, Skelton, WV, 25919.

Known for his kind spirit, loving nature, and infectious humor, Donald Lee will be deeply missed by the countless lives he touched.
