Layland, West Virginia - Dorothy Smith Roseblock Olivas Grubb Ewing of Layland passed away peacefully at the age of 92 on Sunday, October 27, 2019 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley surrounded by family and friends.

Dorothy was born Dorothy Cleo Smith on August 7, 1927 to the late Flura and Sarah Smith of Layland. She loved gardening, canning, traveling, shopping and hosting large dinners for her family and friends for all the holidays. Dorothy was of Baptist faith and attended Layland Baptist Church until she was no longer physically able to do so.

Preceding her in death was her first husband, Carl Roseblock of Layland; second husband, Henry Olivas of Chula Vista, CA; third husband, Jim Grubb of Layland; son, Karl (Steve) Roseblock of Taylorsville, NC; 3 grandsons, Jerry Raines, Bobby Amick, and Anthony Roseblock; granddaughter, Brenda Lea Plumley and a great grandson, Mason Ryder Raines; brother, Clyde Smith of Bradley, Stanley Smith of Layland; sisters, Hester Adkins of Chestnut Knob and Myrtle Irving of Highland Mountain.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Johnny Ewing of Layland; a daughter, Cleo Stone of Chestnut Knob; 2 sons, David (Brenda) Roseblock of Beckley and Andrew (Beverly) Roseblock of Taylorsville, NC; granddaughter, Jamie Roles of Layland; 15 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren; 27 great great grandchildren; sisters, June Pennington of Danese and Patricia Adkins of Mt. Hope; numerous nieces and nephews.

Service will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at Wallace & Wallace Chapel, Rainelle with Pastor Jessie O. Parker officiating. Burial will follow at the Smith Cemetery, Highland Mountain. Friends may call from 12:00 noon until time of service at the funeral chapel.

The family expresses special thank you to her caregiver, Cheri Payton and the staff at Bowers Hospice House.
