Sophia, West Virginia - Dorsel Brian Blankenship, 41, of Sophia, WV, went home to be with the Lord on November 12, 2022.

Brian was born August 12, 1981, in Gastonia, NC, a son of Alice Steele Plumley and the late Donald Blankenship. He enjoyed working on cars, spending time with his family and fishing.

In addition to his father Brian was preceded in death by a daughter, Georgia; a brother Allen; a granddaughter Ta'Ja; and a special uncle, Terry Ara.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Chlorisa Ara Blankenship; his children, Brett Blevins, Michael James Blevins, Dalton Blankenship, Salena Collier and Waylon Ara; his mother, Alice Plumley; a brother, Robert Blankenship; a sister, Alice James; his mother-in-law, Dreama Ara; a special uncle, Randell Steele; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, November 20, 2022, at 1 o'clock, with Reverend Denny Hughes officiating at the Soak Creek Gospel Tabernacle Church in Sophia, WV. Burial will follow in the Steele Family Cemetery in Steeles Hollow at Hanover, WV. Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends.

Friends may visit with the family Sunday, November 20, 2022, from 12 noon until the time of services at 1 p.m. at the Soak Creek Gospel Tabernacle Church in Sophia.
