George Neal III Obituary

George Owen Neal III, 79, of Shady Spring, formerly of Hinton, went home to live with his Lord Jesus on Friday, July 14, 2023, following a long illness.

Born June 19, 1944 at Springfield, OH, he was the son of Mary Ann Elizabeth Pappert Neal of Springfield, OH and the late George Owen Neal Jr. George served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and in Korea and Germany with over 25 years of active-duty service mainly as a staff sergeant and a supply sergeant. He also was a mechanic during his time in the service and part of the Army National Guard. He dedicated his life to the service of his country which he loved dearly. George most of all loved his family. He has entered the doorway that has led him from this earthly life into his Heavenly eternal home. He is now a citizen of Heaven. God has planned his transition from the temporal into the eternal with such meticulous care.

Besides his mother, those left to cherish his memory include his devoted loving wife of 12 years, Neva Dianna Neal; son, Steve Edward Neal and family; children, Crystal Arthur and husband Mike, Maurice J. Jarrett and wife Jennifer, sister-in-law, Tina Richmond and husband Daniel; three brothers-in-law, Stanley Keith Griffith and family, Samuel Dennis Griffith and wife Della and Terrence Orrin Griffith and wife Tina. He had several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews also.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 pm Wednesday July 19, 2023 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Sam Peterson officiating. Burial will follow in the Lilly-Crews Cemetery at Nimitz. Friends may call from 11:00 am until service time on Wednesday at the funeral parlors.
