Harry Lee Ross, 74, of Princeton died Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at his residence. Born June 24, 1948, in Bud, WV, he was the son of the late Charles and Hilda Shrewsbury Ross. He worked long wall for CONSOL Coal Co. Itmann mine and retired as a heavy equipment operator for Pounding Mill Quarry. Harry was a faithful member of Silver Springs Baptist Church. Harry loved his family. He was a Christian and loved the Lord. He had said many times he had no fear of dying. In addition to church friends, he had many friends though the years. He was an avid WVU fan, and a strong conservative politically. When able, he enjoyed working in the garden and mowing his lawn. He was loved by many and will be missed by many. His favorite Bible verse was "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have eternal life - John 3:16.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Ellene Perry; one brother, Charles Ross, and sister-in law and brother-in-law, Mike and Donna Copley.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Eulalia "Lalia" Footo Ross; three sons, Harry Lee Ross, II, and his wife Dr. Sherri Ross, Brian Steven Ross and his wife Christine all of Princeton and Jason Scott Ross and his wife Danei of Sheffield Lake, OH; ten grandchildren, Olivia Ross, Jake Ross, Ashliegh Mann and husband Jacob, Briana Farley and husband, Dr. Tyler Farley, Chantz Ross, Harvey Ross, Gus Ross, Odessa Ross, Murray Ross and Junie Ross; five great-grandchildren, Kaige Buzzo, Mavrik Mann, Everly Mann, Milo Farley and Indy Farley; one sister, Betty Cook of Beckley, and two brothers, Dr. Thomas Ross and wife Cheryl of Southern Pines, NC, and Gene Ross and wife Wanda of Beckley; several nieces and nephews and special family friend and mother of Ashliegh and Briana, Brandy Burchette; sisters-in law, Linda Runion and husband Mike and Melissa Quizenbeury and husband Daniel; brother-in-law, Johnny McKinney and wife Laura.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Harry will be conducted 7:00 PM Sunday, July 31, 2022, at Silver Springs Baptist Church in Princeton with Pastor Justin White and Pastor Gerald McKinney officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Park Cemetery Monday, August 1, 2022, at 11:00 AM. Those attending the graveside service are asked to be at Silver Springs Baptist Church by 10:30 AM on Monday. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call at Silver Springs Baptist Church on Sunday, July 31, 2022, from 5:00 PM to the service hour.
