West Virginia - Helen Virginia Snider Hickman of Beckley, WV, formerly of Kopperston, WV left to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at the age of 94 at Bowers Hopsice House in Beckley.

Born on June 17, 1925, in Princeton, she was the daughter of the late Charles Henry Snider and Minnie Ann Ratliff Snider of Oakvale Road, Princeton.

Throughout her life, she was employed at the Celanese Plant in Pearisburg, VA, as an office Deputy Sheriff in Wyoming County; was an Avon representative; and worked at Stone & Thomas and Elder Beerman in Beckley.

She enjoyed working with and having beautiful flowers around her home and liked artistic and unusual pictures and items in her home decorations, especially holiday decorations.

She immensely enjoyed the companionship of her pets, "Gray" her cat and "Brandi" her Pomeranian.

She was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of 68 years, Ralph Charles Hickman; five brothers, Rex Snider, Kenneth Snider, Lacy Snider, Marion Snider, Mark Snider; one sister, Opal Snider Bolton and one granddaughter, Krista Maddy Vandall.

She is survived by her loving and devoted children, Bernice Louise Hickman Maddy of Beckley;

Richard Lawrence Hickman of Pearisburg, VA; two grandchildren, Jennifer Erwin (Tim), Kelly Maddy; three great-grandchildren, Mary Erwin, Campbell Erwin,

Bethany Fernatt; and one great-great-grandchild, Xavier Fernatt.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Helen Snider Hickman will be held at 3:00 P.M., Sunday February 23, 2020 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road with Pastor Jim Simmons officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 P.M. until the service hour at the funeral home. Burial will follow on Monday, February 24, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Those attending the graveside service are requested to meet at the funeral home no later than 1:30 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in memory of Helen V. Hickman to the Bowers Hospice House, 454 Cranberry Drive, Beckley, WV 25801.
