Homer Thornton 'Big' Hundley Obituary

Homer Thornton "Big" Hundley, of Lansing, WV passed away Thursday, July 25, 2024 at the amazing age of 101.

Born in Russell Hill, WV, he was the son of the late Norway Sweden and Emma Maine Keenan Hundley.

In Mr. Hundley's many years, he was a school bus driver, business owner, coal truck driver and logger. He also was the proud owner of a feed store and a gas station.

Mr. Hundley was of the Baptist faith, loved music and enjoyed playing the guitar.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by three children, Ellen Lenore, Teresa Lynn and Stephanie Robin; two grandchildren, Kay and Connie Rose; eight brothers and two sisters.

Left to cherish his memory include his wife, Delphine; 5 children; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 24 great-great-grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews including a very special niece, Carolyn Shadowen Paul and great-niece, Sherry.

Funeral services will be 1:00P.M. Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home, 350 West Maple Avenue, Fayetteville, WV. Visitation will be from 6:00P.M. until 8:00P.M. Monday, July 29 at the funeral home. Mr. Hundley will be laid to rest in Haynes Chapel Cemetery following funeral services.
