Jack Morse Cook, 79, of Stephenson, WV, passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2018, in The Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV.

Jack was born September 4, 1938, in Long Pole, WV, a son of the late James Oliver and Mossie Kathleen Lockhart Cook. He was a retired brakeman of the Norfolk Western/Norfolk Southern Railways, having 39 years of service. He was a member of the Morning Star Regular Baptist Church and an Elder of the Church for over 30 years. Jack was the last surviving member of his original family.

In addition to his parents Jack was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Lockhart Cook; five brothers, two sisters, and three sons-in-law, Billy Strattis Jr., Gary Addair and Philip Harvey.

Survivors include his wife Tessie Cook of the home; two daughters, Katy Addair and Jackie Harvey both of Tazewell, VA; one son Brian Cook and wife Jennifer of Lester, WV; two grandsons, Josh Harvey of Tazewell, VA, and Corey Harvey and wife Stephanie of Nashville, NC; two great granddaughters, Caroline and Adaline Harvey; one step son, Dennis Lambert and wife Darlene; and two step grandchildren Denton and Pennie Jo Lambert.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, July 1, 2018, at 11 o'clock with Elder Gene Green and Elder Edward L. Cline, Elder Russell McCoy and Elder William Vern Blankenship officiating at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger, WV. Burial will follow in the Shrewsbury Cemetery on Barkers Ridge in Stephenson, WV. Serving as pallbearers will be Josh Harvey, Cory Harvey, Dennis Lambert, Brian Cook, Paul Martin and John Garlic.

Friends may visit with the family Saturday evening, June 30, 2018, from 6-9 p.m. at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger.
