Kenneth Brackman, 84, of Rainelle, passed away Friday, February 9, 2024, peacefully at his home following a long illness.
Born July 20, 1939, in Rainelle, he was the son of the late Lester and Ada Brackman.
Kenneth was a coal miner with Westmoreland Coal Company and then worked at the Greenbrier Hotel. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corp. Kenneth was a member of the Sewell Valley Baptist Church, Rainelle.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three sisters Jean Yoho, Dorothy Kroneburg, and Frances Staley.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Evelyn Howard Brackman; two sons Brad Brackman and his wife Leslie of Charlotte, North Carolina and Marcus Brackman and his wife Tanya of Atlanta, Georgia. Kenneth's family was richly blessed with grandchildren Carter Brackman and his wife Kinsey of Lynchburg, Virginia, Cameron Brackman and Anna Brackman of Charlotte, North Carolina, Eli Brackman of Atlanta, Georgia, and Jacob Brackman of Atlanta, Georgia; one great-granddaughter Evelyn of Lynchburg, Virginia; and one sister Elizabeth Altizer of Ronceverte.
Services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 17, at Sewell Valley Baptist Church with Pastor J.D. Surbaugh and Pastor Fred Fryar officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Friends may call one hour before the service from 12 - 1 p.m. at the church.
