Kenneth Wayne Canterbury Obituary
Hines, West Virginia - The world lost a pillar of goodness on Monday, March 7, 2022, as Kenneth Wayne Canterbury, 64, of Hines, went home to be with the Lord.
Born November 23, 1957, in Rainelle, he was the son of the late Kenneth "Cannonball" and Annie Bowden Canterbury.
Wayne was a retired coal miner who had an amazing work ethic and was known to be the best roof bolt operator in the area. He loved to hunt and fish and always made time to do those things with his family. If he was not working or with his family, he was showing kindness in the community.
He was a kind and gentle man whose huge heart lives on in his family. He wanted all his loved ones to show kindness.
Those left to cherish his memory are his devoted and loving wife of 43 years, Rebecca Kirby Canterbury; his son Joseph Wayne Canterbury of Hines; two daughters Eva and Tim Toney of Glen Morgan and Emily and Chad Cruse of Charleston, South Carolina; two brothers Paul Canterbury (Debbie) of Alderson and Everette "Buddy" Canterbury (Susie) of Coal City; three grandchildren Serenity Brooks, Martin Toney, and Gabe Toney; and a host of extended family and friends.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 12 at Sewell Valley Baptist Church with Pastors Fred Fryar and Brad Starcher officiating.
Burial will follow in the Sewell Valley #2, Rainelle.
