Kevin Keith Martin, 50, of Burke, VA, passed away peacefully surrounded by family after bravely battling a brain hemorrhage for nine months.

Kevin leaves behind his wife of 27 years, Melanie, his mother Ruth Martin of Princeton, WV, in-laws Fred and Eileen Washburn of Beckley, WV, sister-in-law Ashley Washburn of Huntington, WV, grandmother-in-law Eileen Rahall of Beckley, WV, his precious pups Felix and Dunkin, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Keith Martin.

A 1989 graduate of Princeton Senior High, Kevin attended Virginia Tech where he received degrees in Aerospace Engineering and Psychology. Kevin was employed by Lockheed Martin for 27 years as a Senior Systems Engineer and served as Chief Engineer for his group. He also served as president of the Signal Hill Homeowners Association for nearly a decade.

Kevin was a fervent lover of animals and was passionate about music, electronics, home automation, woodworking, his Tesla, the Washington Capitals, and racquetball. His many friends would agree that he was always a jokester and would never fail to light up a room.

Services to celebrate the life of Kevin Martin will be held at 4:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 28, 2021, from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton. A private family gathering will be held from 3:00 P.M. until the service hour. Following his service, the family will honor his request to be cremated, he will be laid to rest beside his father in Oakwood Cemetery in Princeton.
