Lt. Aaron L. Crook, 32, of Princeton died early Tuesday morning, May 30, 2017, at BRMC from injuries received while serving and protecting the good people of Bluefield and Mercer County.

Born August 31, 1984, in Summers County, he was the son of Shelda Jean Bennett Crook of Nimitz and the late Jackie Lee Crook.

Aaron was a graduate of Pipestem Christian Academy, received his Criminal Justice degree from Bluefield State College. Aaron served his country with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve for six years.

He joined the Bluefield Police Department on February 25, 2008, and rose to the rank of Lieutenant.

Aaron loved his family and country. He certainly loved the outdoors, especially fishing, and never passed up an opportunity to go fishing with his buddies.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Whitney Ann Brookman Crook;

His two beautiful children: Brycen Lee Crook & Paislee Ann Crook;

Mother, Shelda Jean Bennett Crook;

Grandmother, Loretta Jean Titta;

Three brothers, Jason Alexander Crook, Jackie Lee Crook II, Brian Thomas Crook;

Two half siblings, Deborah Bennett & Terry Baich.

Services to celebrate and honor the life of Lt. Aaron Crook will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 3, 2017, at the Brushfork Armory at Brushfork with Pastor Larry Dyer and Chief Dennis Dillow speaking. Burial will follow in Restwood Cemetery at Hinton with military honors given under the direction of the U.S. Marine Corps.

Friends may visit the family Friday from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the Brushfork Armory. Online condolences may be shared with the family via www.memorialfd.com.
