Marie May Shirey, 92, of The Havens, Princeton formerly of Beckley, died early Tuesday morning, June 14, 2016 at Westwood Center in Bluefield Va.

Born at Beard, she was the daughter of the late Dorsey R. May & Helen Snedegar May.

Mrs. Shirey was a former resident of Beckley for 61 years and a member of the First Baptist Church in Beckley. She was a devoted wife & gardener.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Robert H. Shirey along with a sister Dorothy May Johnston and a brother Calvin R. May.

Survivors include her children, Shirley Shirey Brown (Mike), Barbara Shirey James, John R. Shirey (Connie), Joan Shirey Stewart (Tim), and George W. Shirey (Debbie); 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

The family would like to thank the loving caregivers at The Havens.

Memorial Services will be held 11 am Saturday, July 2, 2016 from the First Baptist Church in Beckley with Reverend Joan Stewart & Reverend Kevin Shirey officiating. Inurnment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park in Beckley.
