Mary Ellison Obituary
Mary Ellison, aged 84, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2024. Her weary spirit is now revived and in the glorious presence of God and His abundant love. She will be greatly missed by all of us she has left behind who love her.
Mary was born on January 19, 1940, in Oak Hill, WV, to Frances and Sebert Boothe. Throughout her life she was a bright force of nature. She was a people-person who was known for her love of creating things of beauty. Among other things, she was skilled in the art of ceramics and won a few ribbons for her beautiful handmade dolls. One of her favorite leisure activities was bowling. She bowled on numerous leagues for many years.
Mary was predeceased by her brother Jim Boothe, sister Donna Bavely, daughter Ann Justus, grandson Seth Justus, and granddaughter Christina Nugen leaving no doubt that she is now enjoying a joyful reunion in the heavenly realm.
She is survived by her sister, Sandy Thompson and her husband Bob Thompson, her children, Teresa Lilly-Peters, Kenny Goodson, Debbie Craft and her husband Sonny Craft, and Michael Goodson, her grandchildren, Jeremy Lilly, Holly Goodson, Sarah Lilly, Ashley Justus, John M. Peters, and Danielle Lively, and many great grandchildren.
Services to honor Mary will be held at Oak Hill Gospel Tabernacle on Saturday, March 9, 2024. The family will receive visitors at 1:00 pm and a Memorial Service will begin at 1:30 pm with Pastor Sonny Craft officiating.
The family extends a special thanks to the employees at Hospice of Southern West Virginia and Bowers Hospice House for the care they provided.
