Maplewood, West Virginia - Maynard Darrell Wills, 79, of Maplewood, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family.

Born April 3, 1942, at Grassy Meadows, he was the son of the late Burl and Florence Moore Wills.

Maynard was a disabled autobody repairman. He was a dedicated husband and father. Maynard enjoyed hunting and fishing with his son and grandsons. He never met a stranger and could talk to somebody for hours. He could often be found at the corner gas station with friends passing the time with a hot cup of coffee in his hand.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 59 years Rita Moss Wills; his children Angie Hatfield of Beckley, Rhonda Thomas (David) of Beckwith, Melinda Pruitt (Joey) of Stanaford, Maynard Wills, Jr. of Clermont, Florida, Roseanna Brown (Stacey) of Summersville, and Sonya Stiltner (Todd) of Maplewood; thirteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; six brothers and sisters with whom he shared his childhood farm in Greenbrier County; his lifelong neighbor and friend Brad Grubb; and a host of extended family and friends.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, at Smathers Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Steve Martin officiating.

Burial will be in the Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville.

Friends may call two hours before the service from 12 - 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
