Rainelle, West Virginia - Melvin Kelly Goddard, 79, of Rainelle went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 6. 2024 after a short illness.

Born on August 16, 1944, in Rainelle, he was the son of the late Melvin Allen and Hazel Altalene Goddard.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Deanna Kay Fowler.

Survivors include his wife, Carmella, of Rainelle; a son, Michael Goddard of Rainelle; a daughter Kristi Taylor and husband Ricky from Taylors, S.C.; a son, Jason Tincher of Morganton, N.C.; and daughter Valerie Ott and husband Jacob of Rainelle. Other survivors included six grandchildren, granddaughter Dana Phillips and husband Wes of Alderson; grandson Mikey and partner Kaitlyn Kyle of Crawley; granddaughter Miranda Tincher of Mt. Hope; granddaughter Mikayla of Rainelle; and grandson Barrett Ott and granddaughter Rosie Ott of Rainelle. Four great-grandchildren, Sydnie, Benton, and Beyla Phillips of Alderson and Alaric Killen of Mt. Hope.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 18, at Smathers Funeral Chapel, with Minister Jimmy Goddard officiating.

Entombment will be will the Wallace Memorial Mausoleum, Clintonville.

Friends may call from 12 - 2 p.m. Monday, before the service at the funeral home.
