Richard Garland Gipson Obituary

Richard Garland Gipson, 80 years old of Hilton Village, sadly left us on Friday, May 24, 2024.

Born March 9, 1944, he was the son of Garland and Mary (Waselchalk) Gipson.

Richard was a graduate of Nuttall High School; he worked for Appalachian Power as a meter reader; and he enjoyed working on things. He attended Chestnut Knob Christian Church, Danese.

He was preceded in death by his wife Martha Mae Crookshanks Gipson.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter Christine Puffenbarger (Travis), his son Richard Gipson II, and daughter Ashley Wilson (Jared); grandchildren Layne Puffenbarger and Isabella Wilson; two brothers: Daniel and George Gipson; three sisters: Faith Spade, Glenna Ellis, and Connie McKown; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Services will be 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 29, at Smathers Funeral Chapel.

Visitation for friends will be held one hour prior, from 6-7 P.M. at the funeral home.
