Ronald Keith Salango, 71, of Daniels, passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2018 following a short illness.
Born January 17, 1947, in Beckley, he was the son of the late Nancy Marie Kendall and Pat Salango.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Debbie Salango, and children, Tim Salango of Morgantown, Ben Salango and wife, Tera, of Charleston, Kristy Salango Smith and husband, Matt, of Charleston, and PJ Salango and Emmalee Ashworth of Charleston; sisters Pattie Sarcletti of Illinois, and Carmen Pitts of North Carolina; grandchildren, TJ Salango of Charleston, Morgan Salango of Morgantown, Caden Salango of Charleston, Harper Smith of Charleston, Roman Salango of Charleston, and Bodhi Smith of Charleston.
Ronnie and his wife Debbie founded The Ol' Mountain Trader (formerly the Trading Times) and have operated it for over 40 years. Ronnie loved sports and enjoyed coaching baseball and softball for over 20 years. He loved spending time with his family and dogs. He was a loyal and wonderful son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather. He will be missed terribly by all those who knew him.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 7, at Rose & Quesenberry, 729 Flat Top Road, Shady Spring, with Pastor Don Kelly officiating. Friends may visit from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Burial will take place after the service at Sunset Memorial Park in Beckley.
