Sandra (Sandy) Kay Holliday, age 65, of Oak Hill, WV, passed away on Thursday, August 23, 2018, at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley with her family by her side.
Born July 13, 1953, in Beckley, she was the daughter of Kitty (Cleva) Midkiff Callahan and the late James Logan Holliday.
Sandy was a retired coal miner for over 28 years working at Consol Energy and U.S Steel. She also worked as an LPN and Ward Clerk at Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill for 6 years. She attended the Nazarene Church and was preceded in death by her step-father Harold Graham Callahan and by her brother Kenneth Lee Holiday.
In addition to her mother, Kitty, she is survived by her daughter, Stacy Lynn Bragg York and wife Amber York of Elkin, NC; a brother, Ronnie Holliday and wife Joyce of Texas; grandsons, Logan Graham Hornsby and Jacob Reese Hornsby; special son-in-law Jay Hornsby and his fiance' Sabrina Wood of Oak Hill; her significant other Dan Stamper, also of Oak Hill.
Sandy never met a stranger and once you met her you never forget her. She was loved and will be missed by many.
Services will be on Sunday, August 26, 2018, at 1:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill, with Dr Randy James officiating. Burial will be at Wallace Memorial Gardens. Friends may call two hours prior to the service on Sunday at the funeral home.
