Scotty McRaye Meadows Obituary

Scotty McRaye Meadows, 79, of Camp Creek, died early Monday morning, August 10, 2020 at his residence.

Born April 2, 1941 at Camp Creek, he was the son of the late Scott and Mary Lilly Meadows. Scotty was a graduate of Spanishburg High School and had proudly served his country during the Vietnam conflict in the U.S. Army, receiving the Vietnam Service Medal and

Good Conduct Medal.

He was a carpenter all of his life working in construction and was a 50 year member of the Teamster Carpenter Union #1911 out of Beckley. Scotty was a member of the Flat Top Baptist Church. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, farming and working in his garden. Scotty loved his Lord, he read his Bible diligently. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Janice Marie Meadows; four children, John and Mindy Meadows, Eli Meadows and companion Paula White, Deborah and Mike McKinney, Benjamin and Angie Meadows; nine grandchildren, Chelsey Ruble (Tyler), Johnathon, Addelyn, Jacob, Courtney and Miranda Meadows, Kyle, Benjamin McKinney & Kyla White; three great-grandchildren; his uncle Richard Lilly and wife Linda also survive.

Funeral services honoring the life of Mr. Meadows will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, August 13, 2020 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Mike McQuillen and Roger Richmond officiating. Burial with military graveside rites provided by the Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery in Princeton. Friends may visit with the family Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until the service hour at the funeral home.

Due to the Governor's mandate, masks and social distancing, will be observed. Those who are unable to attend, can view his services thru webcasting on our website.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

The Meadows family is being served by the Memorial Funeral Directory and Cremation Center on the Athens Road in Princeton.
