In the early hours of Tuesday, November 7, 2023, Stephen Matthew Neff, 69, of Fayetteville, WV passed away peacefully after a long illness.

Born in Oak Hill, WV, he was the son of the late Jesse Kenneth and Ella Mae Smith Neff.

Mr. Neff was a 1972 Fayetteville High School graduate and a retired heavy equipment salesman from Rudd Equipment. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, boating and watching WVU basketball and football.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Cecilia Neff and Linda Light.

Those left behind include his sister, Pam Marks; four nephews, Kenny (Jenny) Marks, Travis Marks, Joshua Marks and Jason (Mandi) Light: two nieces, Karrie (Bill) Young and Samantha (Seth) Toney; many great-nephews and nieces; and close friend, Scott Harris.

Funeral services will be 1:00PM Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home, Fayetteville. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Oak Hill.

Gathering for friends will be from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
