Wayne Evans Chernutan Obituary

Shady Spring - Wayne Evans Chernutan, age 59, of Shady Spring, WV passed away Thursday, September 4, 2025 at Beckley Health Care Center.


Born on April 23, 1966 in Cleveland, Ohio, he was the son of the late John E. Chernutan and Trela Cochran Chernutan.


Wayne, as he was known by family and friends, was a retired truck driver. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, dancing, music, and classic cars.


Those survivors left to cherish his memory include his two daughters, Jessica Gelinas and husband Joshua of Weatherford, Texas, and Heather Kosut and husband Tyler of Shady Spring.


A granddaughter, Mila Kosut of Shady Spring; A sister, Barbara Kauff of Shady Spring; the mother of his children, Wendi Chernutan of Shady Spring; a niece Autumn Lilly and husband Isaac and their son, Matthew of Beaver, and a nephew Nicholas Kauff and wife Taylor and their children Emma and Lucas of Charleston.


Funeral services will be conducted at the Amos E. Quesenberry Chapel of Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home at Shady Spring, WV. on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Jordan Legg and Pastor Isaac Lilly officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity, WV. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services on Saturday at the funeral home.


Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
