Beckley - Wiley Victor Cullop Jr., age 94, of Ghent, WV, passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at Bowers Hospice House.

Born May 2, 1931, he was the son of the late Wiley V. Cullop, Sr. and Katherine Minton Cullop.

He was the oldest of 16 children. Wiley was in the mining industry from 1951-2015 where he worked as a mine foreman, Federal Mine Inspector/Supervisor, a coal operator, and as an Assistant Superintendent and Mine Foreman at Midland Trail Mine No.2, where he retired at age 83.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Joshua Adam Cullop: brothers James Cullop, Walker Dale Cullop, John Cullop, and Richard Cullop, and sisters Helen Cullop Crager and Brenda Cullop Toothman.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 47 years, Donna McVey Cullop: children Wiley V. Cullop, III (Vickie Cullop), Michael Blake, Brenda Cullop (Thomas Hartwell), Jennifer Cullop Oliver (Jimmy Oliver); grandchildren Ryan Cullop, Jeremy Webb, Tyler Sullivan, Savannah McGraw, Makensea Terry, Coby Oliver, Morgan Webb, and Joshua Oliver; 8 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Other survivors include brothers Alvie Cullop, Thomas Cecil Cullop, and Greg Cullop: sisters Barbara Ripley, Marion Fox, Mary Lynn Shrewsbury, Shirley Thompson, Rosa Lee Casteel, and Karen Deck.

A service will be held at Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home in Shady Spring on Thursday, June 12 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Don Kelly officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Family and friends may visit from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bower's Hospice House or the Alzheimer's Association.
